Welcome to term 4

Holy Communion
During the holidays I had a special initiation in the holy catholic
church, another sacrament closer to god. The anxiousness of
everybody staring at you, whether their eyes staring into your
helpless little soul or smiling with the pride of a lion, it was a
rush of a lifetime. The morning of the sacrament I woke up
extremely early and had a nice soothing shower, I got changed
in under 10 minutes! just trying to make myself look presentable.
I had to wear a white singlet under my shirt to make it look fancy
with my black trousers and shoes, my hair was easy to do unlike
most days due to cutting it a couple days earlier. It was time.
Driving on the to the St Pius x Church, my church, my mum
told us how proud she was and also not to muck anything up
because we are representing our family (no pressure).
For the first time ever we were early to church, 1 hour early.
Getting out of our car my aunt's turned up with my cousin also
not forgetting my nana, they gossiped with my mum while I and
my brother helped Juliana prep for the initiation.
As people started filling the church the student who have
arrived started to become a bit nervous, I know I was. The
opening hymn began and the mass was on its way going to
flow and no one had made any mistakes, the scriptures
where read beautifully by our group and now it was time
for the blessings, then the Eucharist & lastly the liturgical
dance, it was amazing how we only just learned the dance
in 2 sessions. The awards were then given out by Juliana
the bishop and father, my name was first to be called up. The
silence in the room turned to clapping and cheering by
people I didn’t even know, it was sensational to stand up
there and feel proud of what I have completed over the past
6 or 7 months. We then had to stand up at the altar for the
rest of the mass, we then got photos with father followed by
my family coming back to my home to have a feast, we were
accompanied by Mrs Middleton. The substantial amount of
food was amazing, with the glowing highlight of my homemade
brownies. It was great to strengthen my connection with Christ,
I enjoyed my holy communion very much.
